I'm excited to share a significant milestone in my professional journey: I've recently become a Certified Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), a certification held by very few professionals within New Zealand.

Why I Pursued the AIGP Certification
Throughout my work with organisations across New Zealand, I've observed a growing need for guidance at the intersection of AI innovation and responsible governance. While the potential of AI is immense, so too are the challenges of implementing it safely and responsibly.
The AIGP certification is rigorous, covering everything from technical foundations to regulatory requirements, ethical considerations, and risk management. It's currently one of the most comprehensive and globally recognised credentials in AI governance, and I'm proud to be among the first few professionals in New Zealand to achieve this certification.
What This Means for Your Organisation
For my clients, this certification translates into tangible benefits:
First, it ensures that when we work together, you're getting guidance that aligns with global best practices in AI governance. The AIGP certification covers essential aspects of responsible AI development and deployment, from risk management frameworks to compliance strategies.
Second, it bridges the often-challenging gap between technical implementation and governance requirements. My technical background (PhD in Engineering from Caltech + a career in Data Science delivery and leadership), combined with AI governance expertise, means I can help you navigate the "what", "how" and "why" of effective and responsible AI implementation.
Finally, it strengthens my ability to help you future-proof your AI initiatives. As regulations and frameworks continue to evolve, having a solid governance foundation becomes increasingly crucial for sustainable AI adoption.
